  •  But in india we have also faceing some dark side which formed of killers,thiefs,pyscos,sexual abusers etc...as a gang.Every Gang has a leader name don.After the Mumbai police sprang into action in the 90’s many of these gangsters fled India or were either caught or killed in encounters by the police. So, let’s take a look at some of the  gangsters in India.

  • Dawood Ibrahim

  • Dawood Ibrahim is less of a gangster and more of a global terrorist.He is the boss man of the infamous D Company.Dawood Ibrahim is the number 1 gangster in India in 2021.Dawood Ibrahim Father’s name was Ibrahim Kaskar(police inspector).Dawood Ibrahim’s mothers name was Amina Bai.Elder brother Sabbir was killed on a gang war.Dawood Ibrahim married Zubeena Zareen and has 3 children.

  •  Abu Salem

  • He worked as a delivery guy for Dawood and delivered guns, money, and other illegal goods to people across Mumbai. He allegedly financed many films and knew many celebrities.Abu Salem fathers name was Abdul Qayyum(lawyer). Abu Salem had 2 children. Abu Salem was also in an affair with the actress Monica Bedi.

  • Chota Rajan



  • Chota Rajan was the successor to Rajan Nair, aka Bada Rajan. After the death of Bada Rajan, he gained the title of Chota Rajan. He is a dangerous gangster in India 2021. Chota Rajan’s father worked in Thane, Mumbai. Chota Rajan is married to Sujata Nikalje and has 3 daughters.

  •  He was famous for being a getaway driver for criminals looking to escape the Mumbai police and drove recklessly Tiger Memon married Shabana Memon and has 3 children. Tiger Memon younger brother Yakub Memon was executed in 2015 in Nagpur jail. His older brother Yusuf Memon died in Nasik Central Jail.

He later turned to politics and used it as a cover to run his criminal activities.Arun Gawli criminal career started when he entered Rama Naik’s gang in the 1980s.Arun Gavli married Zubeida Mujawar, who changed her name to Asha Gavli. She is popularly known as ‘Mummy.’ Arun Gawli has two kids Geeta and Mahesh Gavli.

  •  Sukumaran Kurup, who killed an innocent man in order to cash in life insurance.Chacko was strangled to death and his body was burnt inside a car near Kunnam in Mavelikkara. Sukumara Kurup allegedly committed the crime to fake his own death and claim an insurance amount of INR 800,000($75,000)(1984 dollar($) rate was 10.74) by killing Chacko who bore a resemblance with him.

  • Thamanam Shaji

  • One of the first noted gangsters in the city was Chambakkara Sathish, who formed the ‘Chambakkara Pathinettara Company’. Sathish and his gang were active during the 1980s. In the same era, ‘Electric’ Hamsa, ‘Tathante’ Hamsa, ‘Gulati’ and Anil Kumar were active in Mattancherry and Fort Kochi areas, recalls a special branch officer from 1990, Thammanam Shaji ruled the roost. There used to be a joke that ‘Shaji’ was a synonym of goonda. Unlike goondas shown in films, Shaji was an unimposing figure.

  • Anseer AkA Anas perumbavoor(LJP Youth General secratary)the Police jailed him after invoking KAAPA while he was in judicial custody in an attempt to murder case at North Paravoor in 2020. A source in Rural police said that if required his dealings will be investigated. Anas was booked in gold smuggling cases, Perumbavoor Unnikuttan murder case, Pookadassery Rahim attempt to murder case and several other criminal cases. “The HC barred Anas from entering Ernakulam while granting  him bail in a case last year,” said Sabu M G, DySP, Special Branch, Ernakulam Rural
